Can I frag my greentree? If so, how should I go about it?

I obtained a greentree specimen from a local reefer last weekend. He had it out of his tank for awhile on Saturday as he attempted to trade it at the LFS. They weren't giving him a good deal, so I bought it from him. It *would be* probably 6-7 inches tall, but it is slumped over at the main stalk. I have had it under proper lighting and in good flow for about 5 days now, and although all polyps open and extend on the branches, the main stalk is still badly bleached and bent in half. I am pretty sure at this point that the main stalk of this coral is not going to recover and once again support the full wait of the body. Therefore, I want to frag it and have several smaller specimens instead.

Can I just grab a razor and cut the branches off at the point they meet the body? Would simply supergluing them to smaller rocks do the trick?

Thanks for any and all advice.

Is it a soft coral? If so there is a good article in this months Reefkeeping magazine about fragging leather corals. HTH.
