DIY Groud Isolated Serial Connector??

So i am trying to be cheap and am wondering if there is a way to make a ground isolated serial connector for my ACII. I cant see spending 40 + shipping just for a little connector that does nothing but break the ground.

Any ideas on how this could be done??

I asked in the Neptune forum but i doubt ill get a response being that they wont get their $40 a pop if ppl can just build them.

40 dollars is worth it. It is alittle more complicated then just breaking the ground. When you do this then the digital lines must be optically coupled from one side to the other.

It is super easy but not cheaper then 40 dollars

Given the protection that is offered $40 seems a good price, however this maybe useful to you.
