shrimp

just out of curiousity, I just added 3 shrimps on monday... 2 cleaner and 1 fire... I haven't seen the fire ONCE since I put him in... do you think he's dead?

Also I've seen other aquariums before and everyoens cleaner shrimps are out and about... but mine NEVER come out when the lights are on... any reason for this? just getting use to the tank?

I thought it was always better to keep fire shrimp in pairs because that way they make free food for your tank.

Hi,

Fire shrimps are sort of "semi-cleaners." In nature, they are largely nocturnal and a goodly portion of their diet is small polyps; soft corals, small zoanthids and the like. Check for it at night, a couple of hours after the light has gone out out, and you will likely see it.
