Exclamation Fish jumped into overflow!!!!

My six line wrasse has jumped into one of my overflows and I cant get him out. The overflow is not in the corner its on the back glass and its hard to reach without the fish shooting to the bottom of the oveflow. Does anybody know the best way to get a fish out of an overflow.

bridal veil- cheap at any store front that sells linens. That cheap veil like material. Turn the pumps off- shove some in there and like a dolphin in a tuna net it will get tangled and viola.
HTH keep us posted.

I actually have this issue whenever I use the magcleaner it seems with my diamond goby. Mine is also on the back wall, and my tank is at least/almost 5 feet off the ground (I'm only 5'6", and it is almost as tall as me). I use a small step stool with a salt bucket on top, then a small net that I shove into the overflow. I smack the goby, he jumps back in the tank. it's become a ritual, he always jumps back in.

The other option, which I used originally was to pull the stand pipes and let him fall to the sump. Annoying though, but it usually works (unless your fish just lays on the ground flapping instead)...

Agree with Adtravels. Turn pumps off, use large bore tubing to minimize pressure and flow velocity in tube, and siphon him right back into the tank!
