Banggai Cardinalfish

just heard( from a LFS owner) that this fish will soon be red-listed...put on the endanged species list. within the next 6 months. He presumably got this information from his wholesaler. i do not know if this is where he got this information. I know this fish is being breed in captivity but the cost is like 3X...that is his cost. can anyone confirm or deny this claim?

also the price differance is 40 dollars and i would like 3 of them. i don't want to help drive the species extinct but that is a savings of 120 dollars and this guy always has like 10 in his tanks. what would you do?

Banggai is already on red list. See below

I knew someone had posted this news before but I wants to keep reminding people about this:

So why will the price of wild caught banggai change?????????
the RED list is nothing but a recommendation that the animal is in trouble. Its not a limit or embargo against collection. The CITES II protection that was proposed early last year-failed.

Now my hope and dream is that w/ the red listing of this fish that the wild harvest will stop, but its about $ and cents, it won't

okay so this is bad news for my morals, although those links did not work so i am awaiting proof, it sounds by buying wild caught specimens i am promoting the over collection of these animals, that are obviously only collected for the ornamental community, DOTZ don't support the collection of these animals!
