Cool SPS Live Rock Aquascaping

I am trying to find a good way to aquascape my LR for the most ideal SPS growth! I have one large piece of LR(about 20lbs) and 3(10-15lb) pieces all in a 29 gal tank... I have them kind of against the back of my tank, but Im new so I dont have much of a set-up. Any pointers? Thanks!

Try to split the 20 pound rock into a few smaller rocks. I had a 29 gallon LPS tank. There was a total of 45 pounds of rock in that tank. I'd say it had about 20 pieces of rock in it. It was a bit crowded, but I managed to make caves and lots of spaces between the rock. The more spaces, the more flow in the tank. Also, the more contact the rock has with the water to give the tank more of a biological filter.

Not really much advice to be given here. Two things you want:

-what looks nice to you
-allows for mounting locations in good water flow and good lighting

My guess would be (although I could be wrong) due to the posity of the live rock it really wont make much difference how they are placed as far as biological filtering is concerned.

cheers,
-S

If more of the surface area of the rock is exposed to the water it will allow more bacteria to grow in those spaces. More bacteria in porous LR, more biological process.
