what kind of watchman goby to get
I'd like to get a watchman type goby but I'm not sure what kind. I like the yellow, pinkspotted, and Randall's. Is any of these less likely to be shy & hide than the others? I have a big tank and I'm afraid that once I put the fish in I'd never see it.
Is there any watchman type goby that's more likely to be out and visible? |

I have one yellow watchman and he is never out, always hidden. Maybe I got a shy one, who knows, but I would have not added it if I could do it over. IME

My Bluespot Watchman hangs out near his rock pile all day. Should ANY othe fish come to near him and he instantly charges. That includes the Maroon clown, Pink Margin Fairy (2x his size) Foxface (2x longer than him), anybody. Pretty hilarious to watch actually.

My Pinkspot is out most of the time. Especially when I feed.

I have a yellow watchman, hes always out watching me. But if I get too close too fast and i Don't have any food he'll hide. But if I have food, hes out. If i walk to teh tank slowly, hes out. lol

I've recently acquired a ywg and I don't really see it out. Only see it peeping out behind rocks.

I have had 2 YWG over the past year or so and I never actually saw either of them until I picked them up of the floor in my tank room!!! I much prefer a regular old clown goby, more interesting, IMO!!

I had an orange spotted shrimp goby that simply disappeared. He was pretty visible for the first few weeks but I'm thinking it may have been killed by my angelfish at some point and the clean up guys got to him. I recently purchased a pink spotted SG (C. leptocephalus). It is much more outgoing and really stands it's ground against the larger fish. It's already a good 4 inches and very active. I had one before and liked it. Glad I got another.

First of all do you have a sand bed, because they like to make their burrows in the sand and rock. In about 3 months I am going to get a Yellow Watchman Goby and a Hi Fin Red Banded Goby and get them as babies so they will share their burrow and live together, I CANT WAIT!

if you work around the tank enough when they're young they will stay out more. mine only go in their burrows when i stick my hand in and are then right back out.
