Thank you all.

For the past day, I've just been thinking about her and all that she lived through. She'd seen so many changes since 1912, stuff that I have always known and can't believe didn't exist when she was young. When I grew up in Switzerland, we made tons of wonderful memories, which I think back upon fondly. She was a great part of my life, and she's definitely leaving a hole that won't be filled.

Right now we are setting the date for her funeral. It should be after MACNA, and I'm hoping I can attend.

I never had a grandmother, well I did but they both had died before I was born but I do remember one grandfather. He died when I was 18 and like you I have cherished memories.

It must be especially tough knowing the physical distance between you and her, I can only imagine. I wish you well Marc and knowing that the pain never really goes away, I hope that it softens quickly.

Godspeed brother.

Thanks guys. If any of you have some input about getting a flight from DFW to Zurich, Switzerand (ZRH) at a rate around $1000, please let me know. When I called yesterday, the rate was $999 (compassion fare) but I didn't know for sure that the funeral would be on Tuesday (26th) - until today. When I called back, it was $1994 now.

A few club members have made some suggestions, but maybe one of you are in the industry and can help me pull a few strings financially. I'll be starting to make calls again tomorrow morning. I don't really care what day I come back (27, 28, 29..) but I really need to get back sooner than later. Especially since I'm going to be gone from Thursday to Sunday for MACNA, then turn around and fly out on Monday again. My poor reef... man, it better be on its best behavior.

Marc, I found it for $949 if you left on Sat. That would mean missing MACNA but may be worth $1000. I found it on bestfares.com. It might be worth becoming a member ($45) and calling them. They will really work with you to find a deal. I hope it works out for you!

Forgot to mention that price was with a hotel. So you might be able to do better.

I don't need a hotel. I'll stay with family.

I'd really like to get back to my tank Sunday late night - to check on equipment and parameters. Then I can leave Monday morning feeling a little better about things. One person suggested I fly out from Houston, so I'll check on that option as well in the morning.

Marc-

If you need me to check on your tank from Sunday on, just ask.

We'll get back that day/early evening.

Just let me know.

I got a flight out of DFW next Monday for $1073. I'll be back late on Friday.

That means I'll be gone from Thursday to Sunday for MACNA, come home from Houston that night to check on the tank and livestock, only to leave the next morning for the funeral.

I hate leaving my tank unattended for so many days. The LFS down the street will stop by for a quick check, and my son says he'll come by as well, but it isn't the same as me being here when something goes wrong.

Steve, can you come by on Wednesday afternoon or evening? I want to go over all the details with you in person, so you can feel comfortable and know where everything is.
