hang on skimmer overflowing everywhere

Do all hang on style skimmers overflow all over the place when full? I used to have a Prism skimmer and when it would fill it would not overflow. I now am running at JEBO hang on style skimmer which just filled my carpet with about 4 gallons of salt water. I realize the overflow was due to the skimmer being set wrong but I dont want this happening again. I konw this isnt a top quality skimmer but its all I have for now.

Thanks

No they all do not do that. With proper adjusting overflowing should not happen.

Prizm mod makes it work better

I have a prism and actually like it.
(its on a 25 gal)
But... I found the Prizm needs some modification.
Heres the "mod" I found makes a big difference in how well you can tweak it to perform good.

Put an airline control valve in the air intake line.

Then start it out turned way way down.. both the air valve and the flow control on the inlet.

Let it run for a day or so turned way down .. then
start turning up the air valve and water valves... a teeny bit at a time.

Oh, I also made (sewed) a shallow "sock" out of 50 micron poly/ filter material and fit it up over the outlet.
Held it on with long zip tie.
Voala'.. no more obnoxious fine bubbles.
You'd think it would clog fas .. but so far, with the skimmer flow rate turned down..it is working well and is now algea covered so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Best of luck.
Todd

ps.. dont have a Jebo Skimmer, but I suspect an air line valve in the venturi line would work wonders with that too.
