Deep water chiller?

I need some help. I am setting up a 40 gallon deep water reef. The tank is in my office and the air temp can fluctuate from working hours to closed. I want the reef temp to stay 72-74. I need a chiller and am thinking of a chiller/heater combo, maybe a Azoo 240 or this one at Dr. Foster. CH-400 Thermoelectric Heater / Chiller?

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...&N=2004+112985

My fear is can they handle a 40 gallon? I like the CL-280 Chiller by Pacific Coast but it will only do half the job (no heat). Can I tie a Dual Temp Contoller to this and my heater? If I just add the chiller how do I know my heater and chiller aren't working against each other? I want the temp concistant.

Help.

I would not get that chiller, I personally have not had any experience with that brand but if I were you I'd get the 1/10hp JBJ, it doesn't have a heater in it but it'll certainly keep your tank at your desired temperature. I have the 1/5 jbj on my 72 and it keeps my tank always between 75-77. I love it, that chiller your looking at looks like a piece of junk IMO.

Azoo 200

I just set up a 25gal with the Azoo thermoelectric chiller / heater
It seems to be doing a good job keeping the tank 26 - 27c .
(it only gives readout in c)

Its been running for a week, and even though the whole back of the stand is open.. still felt had to mount a small fan blowing on it to keep it cool(er).....
it gives off what I thought was a *surprising* amount of heat when cooling.

And its neet when it bows out cold air when heating.
err.. probably not the most efficient way to use 240 watts of electricity to HEAT a 25 gal tank.. haha.

I bough it almost 2 years ++ ago from Aquatic ecosystems for like
369.00 and never hooked it up.

I guess the "400" one from dr f&s is the new bigger version.

Anyway, the one I am using really DID drop the 25 gal . tank down 2 deg centigrade in about 1 hour when I was fooling around with it....that was kind of impressive.

So far, I would recommend it, based on its simplicity and it seems to work well overall.
BTW.. 25 gal. tank has 134 watts of pc. lighting and 2 21 - 24 watt power heads and a 13 watt UV adding heat to it.
its got about 250 gph going through it.

Thanks Todd G.

I just the new 400 today. I'll hook it up next week. Good to hear that they work.
