tank size
Heres a question, is there a formular when building a tank to figure out gal's of water in size like 96"x36"x16" or how meny gal's of water per sq ft.

I think it is l x w x h in inches divided by 231.
That was of the top of my head so you may want to double check that formula. Todd |

231 means I lied?
231 cubic inches per gallon
Eg 72 x 24 x 24 = 41472 cubic inches 41472 / 231 = 179.5324675 gallons. remember these are outside dims usually and more often than not the top 1-1.5 inches are not holding water either. so the same tank out of 1/2 inch glass: 71 x 23 x 22.5 = 36742.5 cubic inches 36742.5 / 231 = 159.0584416 gallons HTH Dman
