I sold some corals in seawater stores in Switzerland and Germany.
60% of the corals are layers of friends

Most corals have increased their volume by 200-300 %.

That is intersting how you change your T5 bulbs at 6 to 8 months, rather than running them as long as 18 months. That has been the sellling point here in the U.S. that you can run these bulbs so much longer and save money.

Why do you choose to change them so much earlier? And other hobbyists in your area are doing the same thing, or do they wait longer?

I know the marketing argument that T5 lights are up to 3 years utilizable.

T5 lights can burn for a long time but the loss of the spectrum is too heavy for a stone coral keeping after around 9 months.

Bernd Mohr has described 1999/2000 the effect. After 9 months the growth stagnated. After a change of the lights the corals grew again very well. I know these for all T5 users change their lights in the interval from 6-11 months.

Iwan, really awesome. I do surf European reefing sights every now and then and I notice many Europeans use a "part" of the zeovit method - but not the whole thing, then use other similar bacterial foods but not Zeo. Am I reading your method correctly thats what you do also?

Here in the states many reefers seem to discourage Zeovit, or similar methodology. It intimidates me, I'm really trying to figure out what parts I like and what parts I don't like. Can you PLEASE elaborate on how you thing this part works (because it obviously works). Its hard to get solid information over here. But I've been thinking of using some parts - but not sure about the entire Zeovit plan.

Also I notice you use ROWAphos and I thought this was discouraged with these type programs?

Shawnts106, I am not telling you what to do or not to do... But if you have not done research into T5s then I would suggest that you do to make sure T5s will work for you... As with everything else they have pro’s and con’s... I am in the process of a 600gal tank and I was tossing around the idea of going all T5s but with my goals and the tank specs, I think that a full T5 setup is not the key... Again I am not telling you what to do or not to do, I am just recommending that if you have not done so already please look at all aspects before you make your decision... It's easy to look at pictures and say I want that but some times you will find its not what your looking for in the long run, also what works for some does not work for others...

I know some reefkeeper these work with the same bases like me.
It in principle is all about the following points in the methods:
- diminution of nutrients
- supplying of elements used up
- active diet of the corals
- water change

The Zeovit method is also interesting for me. However, I don't use a zeolit as filter material. Reason: I am very satisfied with the DSB. I cannot prove any surplus nutrients.

I like to explain the effect of the components in my system. Please take into account that this system has arisen slowly. Corals react to fast changes very severely.

DSB:
Central component of my system. Many take place reduction processes in the DSB. The nutrient content is reduced and kept deep.

Zeostart2:
Reduce phosphate and nitrate. Carbon sources as a food basis for the bacteria are contained in the product.

Amino acids:
serve for the diet of the corals. The state of health can be maintained. Increase the polyp picture

CoralVitalizer:
Corals food. Contains mike and macro components. The water isn't charged by nutrients. The polyp picture increases.

Trace elements:
The trace elements used up replace.

Phytoplankton:
living plankton cells serve the diet of Micro organisms, mussels, sponges, corals polyp, zoo plankton. The plankton cells also have a metabolism and support the breakdown of nutrients.

Bacteria:
Selected bacteria cultures for the receipt of a healthy bacterium population. Basis for the breakdown of nutrients.

Bacterium food:
Carbon source for the increase of the bacterium population
