IMO I would not Fresh water dip any LPS coral! FW dips are usually for parasites and/or pest. LPS have niether. Just temp acclimate it and you can always drip acclimate just to be safe.

I wouldn't think you need to fw dip them but I have dipped candy canes in fw with lugols before with no ill effects, there's some creepy crab living inside the tissue of mine that I wanted out but it still didn't work anyways. So I can say with some comfidence that fw won't kill them. Can't say for other lps though.

I wouldn't do a freshwater dip. Candy canes wouldn't usually carry parasites.

So lps don't carry any critters? how about flatworms, red bugs, etc.? If not then thats another reason to go lps only!

No parasites that eat them. Any coral can have the normal photosynthetic Flat worms on them

Caulastrea is generally pretty hardy. It is worth noting ,however, that they can as most lps be eaten by the protozoan that forms a brown jelly infection which mayspread to other corals. the coral canalso carry in any number of parasites on it's skeleton or the rock it's on.
