Unhappy Help with Macro Shots

Here is the Deal i just got a cannon 100mm Macro Lens for my cannon XT and i can't seem to get a in focus shot here is an example

Looks like lens shake and a smidge out of focus. Make sure you are using a tripod at all times due to slower shutter speeds, also set the camera to timer mode and use a 2 sec timer function to reduce shake. I always try and use manual focus for coral shots and take several picture at the same point with minor focus changes. You can also turn off the pumps in the tank to lower the chances of air bubbles, food, sand, etc blowing past the lens while the shutters open.

Try that and see if it helps you at all!

Macro lens can a little tricky to get used too...
Couple of hints, clean the glass on the inside of the tank really good.
You almost have to use a tripod, can't even consider not using one IMO.
Manual focus is a must, autofocus just doesn't work on macro shots.
Try using the manual settings and do some brackets shots, start on a low F stop and then go up 1 setting until you hit 16-18 etc...
