OSU's QB of the future

So Antonio Henton terrifies me as a UM fan... hes way too mobile to be allowed to play in the big ten..

So Im sure you all know that the future starting QB of tOSU was arrested for soliciting a prostitute...

Personally Id take a loss to App St than have the (possible future) face of my team out whorin...

But maybe thats me...

Great year for the big ten.

Third string QB makes really poor decision.
Whole team loses to a Div. 1 AA team.

Sorry, nice try, not even close.

However, I don't think we will see him in an OSU uniform again.

You must not have heard of Terrelle Pryor. They say he is the next Vince Young and OSU has a really good shot of getting him.

Only a Michigan fan would make this about football. The kid is troubled and needs some guidence. Let him off the floor.

Nope! I'm not buying that for a minute

Yeah what he said.... It's not even close Will and you know it!

But I don't necessarily think this means the end of his OSU career. Just depends on if he can keep his nose clean and get back into the good graces of the coach and if he is willing to hang around long enough to do that.

Tressel has seen a lot of people through bad situations on this team, bottom line is the kid is young, Im on high street all the time and know the area and situations. The difference between he and all the other drunk frat boys is he hit on the wrong girl and offered $20. Its not that different from idiots yelling cheezy pickup lines when they're leaving the bar at 2 am, I'm not condoning what he did, i'm sure he's learned his lesson. It is a huge change for a lot of these guys coming down here, and suddenly they go from high school to being celebrities on campus, with a student body of 25,000 women, It's easy for them to go the wrong way, lets just hope the rest of our boys stay clean,
The last thing we need is another superstar reduced to holding people up in back alleys behind taco bell for a few bucks,

I was'nt aware that he has been found guilty already, or does that not matter in America anymore?? Or is that just to Michigan people? However I DO Know that Mighigan DID lose to App St AND Oregon.

I would think that these types of cases should be relatively easy to defend by a competent attorney. Much like the Rep. Craig case, it would come down to his word against hers (unless it was recorded).
What exactly did he say?
Was it said as a joke?
Did he offer her money in jest?
Can you say entrapment?

Talking

I still for the life of me can not figure out why a college athelete, let alone a football player (esp. an OSU player) needs to pay for sex. Just being on campus is enough to get some play.

That being said I would rather have a player make a stupid mistake that cost him, rather than my entire team make repeat mistakes that cost us a game to a school with Hi Hi Yikas as its fight song.

This is ridiculous. Only the completely homeristic fan base of OSU would put winning over morality.

This is just another black eye like Maurice Clarett.

From what I read it sounds like this was a common police sting.

Porky - its not entrapment. The legal justification is no different than having undercover drug agents, or a sobriety checkpoint.

Now if the police intentionally targetted the young man, Id agree with you..

This was just a guy paying for poo-nanny.

From the latest recruiting info Ive read... pryor is leaning towards WVU.. Has visits with OSU and PSU set up.

He's still a kid, and kids make mistakes. Also, he's 3rd string, and I'm sure it's being delt with. And QB of the future? Not too sure about that, after all, everyone thought Justin Zwick was the QB of the future too, and we all know how that turned out.

This is nothing like Maruice Clarrett, and has this guy even played in a game? Seriously, you're trying to make a big deal over one player who its questionable if he'll ever even play a game for OSU to begin with, much less start a game.

Go troll on the Michigan boards about it. You won't get any support here, except possibly from other Michigan fans.

Its not trolling when you are on the boards all the time..

And its not trolling when every little michigan story pops up on thie forum. How many times has 'mi-chicken' beeen referenced? Dont dish it out if you cant take it..

I believe there was a lengthy post about a certain LB and an arrest warrant here in columbus.. only that was based entirely on an unfounded story run on WTVN two days before The Game.

I love how OSU homers are instantly defensive of any OSU player.

When Johnny sears was busted for drug use (and summarily kicked of the team 2 days later) did I defend him? When the backup cornerback was kicked of the team for assaulting another student on st. patricks day did I defend him?

Nope. Players screw up.

You are right he is a young kid who made a mistake. So is shawn crable, who failed to block in on the field goal attempt against App St.

one guy missed a block, the other guy was searching on the corner of the block..

This isnt a Michigan club forum...

This is a Central Ohio club forum, Home of the Buckeye's.

Like I said, He hasnt be found to be guilty of any crime yet, has he??

Maybe he was giving what he thought was a poor homeless chick $20 to buy some dinner!

I've handed bumbs on the street some cash before, doesnt mean I wanted a... well you know.

This also is not a OSU club forum either. (Im not arguing we dont talk about it.. but talking about osu football or its players is no different than talking about michigan or its players when you are in a reef forum that strictly states in its rules that all discussions will be reef based)

Has been been convicted yet? No - but a not guilty plea certainly does not clear you morally. Had he been found with a collection of child pornography would you still defend him so adamantly? What if this prostitute were to be a minor?

Ive met all of you often enough to know you are too intelligent to believe he had benevolent intentions.

I fully expect you to defend 'your team' and its players.. The OSU homerism is one of the main reasons I can never get behind tOSU.. I love tressel and love the messages he teaches, his involvement in the community and church... I certainly respect him more than Lllllllllloyd..

Yes, UM is having a bad year.. yes, we have players who screw up.. Yes, I received 27 text messages after App St blocked that kick..

So you think when OSU screws up Im not going to point it out??

but go on defending prostituion..

On a side note -

It was a sting operation.. The girl he approached was an undercover officer asking for $20.. he only had $19..

At least you can use this towards the argument OSU doesnt pay their players...

I've not seen anyone Defend prostituion.

But this Is American and you Are innocent until Proven guilty.

Hate the Buckeyes all you want but that is the law.

If or When he Is found guilty he will pay the ultimate price and lose his spot on the team.
To Him, That is far worse than and fine or jail sentence I'm sure.

This is a misdemeanor charge remember. He did no due harm to anyone... Gesh, get over it.

So we had a kid try to pay for sex. Kick us out of the Big Ten and just hand Michigan the Championship.
Seasons over everybody. Go home... Nothin' left to see here.

I don't understand why you are getting so bent out of shape over this. Michigan can't play football, and the cop was proberly from Michigan and off duty. The only reason she turned him in was because he found out where she was from and thought it was only worth $19. After all, the poor kid only knows about football.

Hey I've been a drunk frat boy and I'll tell you that I've seemingly always hit on the wrong girl. Besides $20 is way too high, you should see what you can get for a Chipotle burrito.

All jokes aside, technically he is innocent until proven guilty. Also, morality and law are too different issues at play. The law puts this in the category of a misdemeanor. You know misdemeanors such as jay walking or drunk driving. So there is a good chance that this will get reduced or dropped by trial (maybe public intoxication??). Now if you focus on morality, its saddening to see someone with a potential future in football, a profession kids pull idols and role models from, lack common self-principles. There is often a verse quoted from the bible "he who is without sin cast the first stone" that I know a lot of people here have heard before and I appologize for the regurgitation. Though I would like to point out that we have all fallen short by temptation of some sort. So we should all be just as upset with ourselves as we are with him over this incident. However, I really think that we should be trying to help lift him up instead of condemning his actions and drag him down.

Also, only having $19 sounds like he was just joking around. But I wasn't there so I can't back that last statement but I can back this one: Go Bucks!

[I just thought you were just out doing a little trolling... ya know trying to get under some Buckeyes skin.
That may have been a motivation as well... but my real question is how ridiculously biased OSU fans are... (The same fans that throw beer cans at little kids in UM shirts).. I frequent the mgoblog site currently and I know the OSU fans on there are ridiculous.. hoped the CORA buck fans would be a little less nutty (sorry coudlnt avoid the pun)

I was really hoping responses would be reasonable... maybe a little humility and admit that it was an embarassing moment..

Instead - blatant defense of a criminal act.. At least you asked what the situation was..

You dont think if a UM player was busted for prostitution you guys wouldnt be blasting it?

It bugs me people defend OSU players based solely on their affiliation with the university..

Would I laugh out loud? You bet!
Just like I did when this story aired on 10 TV.

I said to my wife, what a stupid kid. Had the world in his hands, can get 100's of campus chicks for free and does a dumb thing like this...
He may never play for Ohio State again.

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Would I start a thread, and beat a dead horse? ~ Nope.

WOW, Seriously! It's not like he lost to a 1AA team or anything!

It's stupid!

And you guys wonder why you get beer cans thrown at ya?

well said Treg! It's to bad Michigan fans don't have a football team to talk about, they might find something worthwhile to discuss, other than a horny teenager.

Oh how I wish Cooper was still coach.

Short of that Im really really hoping Mike Hart will pull a biakabutuka / perry esque performance.

Its not your guys fault.. I should learn that everyone has been brainwashed to think OSU football is the most important thing in life...

(well except maybe a leak in your sump... :-P )

In almost every other country except ours, this would be an every day thing.

Wow, The kid is 18 maybe 19... He's not old enough drink, but old enough to go fight in Iraq. Go figure.

Let's HOPE this is the worst that will ever happen to him and ALL OF OUR KIDS!!! All this will be down the line is a funny story he will tell his friends in 20 years.

Petty arguments like this are really uncalled for. Moral?? -- someone said??.... cast the first stone. Then go to Europe and it's not immoral, it's common.

I'm a huge Buckeye fan also, but I don't bash anyone in the Big Ten (except that one week of the year of course) ;-)

I like to see them BOTH undefeated coming into the big game.

When the Big Ten looks good, we look better to the country.

pappasmurf said it right.... one horny teenager.
