Percs laid eggs then ate then a few days later..

My pair of Percs laid their first batch of eggs sunday night/monday morning sometime but just a small bunch. Maybe around 50 or so. Then Tuesday I noticed alot of the eggs gone, and yesterday all of them were gone. I am assuming they ate them. Is this normal? Can I expect them to lay eggs and care for them properly in the future?

(I've had them for quite sometime now and I doubt they are underfed as I feel I overfeed my tank.)

Thanks!

Yes it is normal for a pair to consume their first (second, third,.....?) nest. This could be because the male didn't get his part of the job right and they were not fertile. Give them time, they should get it right after a few times.
