Eggs hatching, A few questions!

Hello, I took my clown eggs out of my tank yesterday and I put them in a 10 gallon filled up half-way. When the lights go out and they start hatching, Do I add rotifiers the same night or do I wait untill the lights come on? Can I turn the lights on early so I can feed them before school? Thanks
David

David-

Yes you can start the rotifers that day or the day before. Use instant algae too. This will give your rotifers a head start before the larvae are introduced.

You don't have to turn the lights on before school. Just makes sure you have a bunch of rotifers floating around. You may want to drip in some instant algae into the larval tank to keep the rotifers reproducing through out the day. If you do this should be fine until you get home.

the advantage to waiting a little is increased oxygen levels.

do use IA or other algae on a drip. i prefere using live algae and lights, search for co culturing itll increase O2 levels and decrease ammonia/nitrite

They just started hatching! Quick little things arnt they?

This is just so exciting, I sure hope I have what it takes. My roomate told me he thought that if I spend half as much time on my homework as I do on my clowns I would have strait A's. Just thought that was kind of funny.

Goes from Egg up to day 128 so far...

There was a mass die off within the first 12 hours. Out of about eighty to start with, 55 died. The others are still doing good it looks.

test the water quality, post numbers.
give a complete description of your setup.

though on a first hatch for a pair low numbers are common.
