New Tank, Stocking question
When my tank finishes cycling is it ok to add 5 corals and one fish after the clean up crew has been in and conditions restabilize? The reason im asking is because id like to save on shipping from liveaquaria and itd help me a great deal if this is possible. This is going to be in a 12g jbj nano dx.
I know your only suppose to add one fish at a time to keep the bioload low but I do not know if the same applies to corals. The fish will be a small perc or ocellaris clown which are uppose to be fairly hardy. |

Most people would probably recommend that you not buy too many corals at once either. But I have added at least 4 one time to my 55 and I didn't have any problems. You will probably be o.k

I'm new to reefs, but I was told that corals don't really add much to the bioload by some people and other people have told me that they help with the bioload because of their photosynthetic bacteria.
I ordered most of my stock from liveaquaria.com too, and added more than one fish and a few corals each time. It has seemed to work so far. But that may just be my experience and it could all come crashing down on me at some point. |

I've not had a problem adding 5-6 coral fragments at once, but corals do secrete waste. I wouldn't worry about it, just perhaps do a water change a day after adding. The riskiest part is making the corals happy in their new environment.

not all at once you will cause a spike with putting in that much live stock at once
