CLown Breeding system

I have just built a room to house a system of breeding tanks.

There are a total of nine tanks plus sump in the system.
Each tank is 450mm wide x 450 deep x 495 high.
Sump is about 1200mm x 450 x 500.
The rack is 3 tanks wide and 3 tanks high (i am considering droping a row so it is easier to service)

I was thinking of using a skimmer only as well as a little live rock in the sump with some macro algaes. A uv was also going to be plumbed in as well.
The lighting is going to be a single four foot tube above each row.
Blue LEDs above each tank as a moon light(there is no natural light in the room).

Are these tanks big enough to breed per and oc clowns.

I was also of thinking of using a couple of the tanks for some banggaii's but i was a little concerned about the length.

What sort of flow rate is recomended through each tank?

Any of your thiughts would be great

Cheers
TIM

The tank size depends on the species you are trying to breed. Each species has different requirements. Clarkis and Maroons need large tanks while Ocellaris need smaller tanks. If you don't have it allready, get joyce wilkerson's book on breeding clowns, it has all of this info in it.

if my math is close then YES

bangaii's shud do ok, but its close to where ppl have mixed results

flow thru each tank really just depends you can get away with 1 to 3 turnovers per hour.

I dissagree, I got to see a breeding setup first hand at Morgman's house and it was very encouraging/inlightning. I got to see a good way of setting up a system and some of the plumbing that goes into it. Now to co-inside with what you said, I am a wierd fish breeder type person and the average person would not see anything special in the pics. And you not being average might not care for them because it seems like you already have a nice setup. I would like to see yours as well!

Is this going to turn into a "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours" type thread?
