What happened to Salifert? Question on high Ca++ testing

I recently went looking for the Salifert forum. Are they no longer a sponser?

I have a question for them. I'd like to test a freshwater calcium level up to 800ppm and wanted to find out if it was possible. If so, how do I do it?

Thx
Jason

apparently not a sponsor any longer - some recent threads mention problems with product reliability and customer service. your best bet may be a new test kit from another source. for my $$ and peace of mind I recommend LaMotte, but there are certainly others worth your money as well.

They still have a link on the RC sponsors page, I think they removed their forum because of lack or responces from Salifert. As far as what is going on with them who know they have had several people saying they have bad test kits yet Salifert has said nothing.

Yea, alot of us got bad alk and Ca kits mths ago and salifert just decided not to respond and that they were pretty much done with CS. Bummer. I am glad to see their sponsor forum gone as all it did was tick you off.

just refill the syringe and continue dripping the reagent. one full syringe is 500ppm IIRC and then just add the amount you add from the second to the first

I've used salifert to test calcium, the reading always high, with doubtness in mind, I use "API" just to see how it turns out, the result showing big difference from salifert's.

never turn my head to look at Salifert again!
