ID Snail

This snail came out after I turned the lights off. It's a fast mover and I'm worried that it may be some type of poisonous Conus snail.

Maybe a whelk? they tend to come out at night, oh ya and they eat snails!! watch it for awhile to see if its a problem or not.

the whelk I had had a shell similar to a certh but it had the nose tube thing like a nass.

looks like a nassarius sp. to me. If it is, its harmless.

he probably hides in the sand and only comes out to eat.

Yes, it hides in the sand when the lights are turned on.

I think it's safe to put my hand in the tank.
