full tank
so here are the requested full tank shots.
it has been suggested that i am shilling by posting these and that i own my own pet store. now i do work for a pet store but do not own it and anything i post is from my home tanks and stuff that i own (it is also NFS). i have posted requests for ids before but never for the intent to sell. i really like RC and anything i can do to make it better i am more than happy to do and never would i ever think of breaking the forum rules as i respect the advertisers and mods to much. now on to the pics. i have not moved them into the final spots yet and some of the sps is going away to another tank to make room for more lps. rock on....

Now that is a sweet LPS tank.
Don't let the HATERS bother you with the Shilling garbage. Since we love to show off our corals I guess other get jelous and start making false accusations.........been there done that!!! |

i have 2x250w xm bulbs (a 20k & a 10k) under one reflector with 3 18" VHO actinics below the halides and right on top of the water surface (almost). the VHO bulbs are on the three side walls of the canopy so i am attempting to make some sort of reflector that will direct more light down into the tank instead of across the canopy.
lighting period as follows: 12:30 pm-VHO on 1:30 pm-20k halide on 2:30 pm-10k halide on 7:30 pm-10k halide off 8:30 pm-20k halide off 10:30 pm VHO off that pic was taken with all lights on. p.s. the halides are being driven by ice cap ballasts (electronic)

sometimes people think that just because us fish guys work in a pet store that are tanks are not as....hmmm......I don't know....valid as other peoples tanks? but I have loved this hobby since I was 15 and have never wanted to do anything else with my time so i think it's more about the passion and drive to have a nice tank than some kind of percieved advantage.

jus: i almost went with dual 400w halides and was talked out of it.i see alot of change in the lords they seem to intensify.
