What size bulkhead?

I am in the process of setting up a 75gal. I am planning on useing an oceanrunner 6500 for the CL. This pump has a 1.25" inlet. Can I use a 1" bulkhead then an adapter to go to 1.25" or will this lose too much flow?

I would never reduce a inlet size on a pump! outlet is ok but not inlet. jmo Robert

An 1.5" bulkhead takes a 2.375" hole. The closest size (cheap) hole saw I have found is 65mm which is 2.55". Would this be too big?

That's probably fine. I'd buy the bulkhead first, though, and check. I agree about not dropping the size.
