dry Calcium chloride absorbing moisture

I have a bag of old Dow that has some chunks in it caused by moisture. I was wondering if the chunks were still useable?
Thanks,
Greg

They should be fine, although the volume might have changed a bit.

The individual chunks may have swelled a bit, depending on how much moisture was absorbed.

O.K. so if some chuncks swelled a bit, this would slightly reduce the potency? I'm guessing not enough to really change the amount needed.

On a weight or volume basis, yes. The effect is likely small.
