Rowaphos????

I am currently in the middle of an outbreak of Hair algae and what I believe to be Cynobacteria. I just read that Rowaphos is a good cure for this as it reduces phosphates. What does this product look like (is it a pad, liquid?), and where can I put it in my system?

I dont have any filters, I have a sump with a skimmer and pump and DSB. The main tank just has Powerheads in and a weir. So where could it go????

Also...I have a 100 Gallon tank...how much would I need and how ofter would I replace??? I see you can buy it in various sizes from 100ml up.....

Thanks in advance

It is granular, kind of like ground coffee. You need to have it in line with your water flow. You can put it in a media bag, although you need to be careful that it doesn't compact. For maximum efficiency you want to run it in a fluidized filter chamber.
