Sunpods

Can a Sunpod be put on a Nanocube? Or is the sunpod only able to fit on the Aquapod
?

I believe you can use it on most anything as long as the size is right.

This is from the site "The slim, narrow design of the SunPod (measures only 8.25" wide) allows it to be used even on the most narrow of tanks. The small 20" SunPod even fits most Nano-Aquariums, 10-Gallon Aquariums and Mini-bow style tanks!"

I'd assume you have to ensure you have enough room for the 20'' length of the lights. The railing looks to be movable so that you can adjust it if you have a smaller tank width.

Is it true that sunpods are better than JBJ's K-2 Viper?

Well the one thing that is "better" is the moonlights which the Viper doesn't have.

Yeah. I still have the stock lighting on my nc but some time around this week I'm going to get the Sunpod and I really like the moonlight feature.

everl0ng -

Back then I probably had a blue assessor. He died when I was on vacation. Now I have a cherub angel. For filtration, I took out everything that came with the tank. I have this blue filter pad in the first chamber, under that are some live rock. In the middle chamber on the bottom are more live rock, then more blue pad, then black diamond carbon, then the powerhead for the chiller is on top, the 3rd chamber is my heater live rock and return pump.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

If I had to do it all over again, I would look for something that has the ability to have actinic power compact suppliments. Something like this from Hamilton, but the only problem is trying to find one that is 20".

http://www.hamiltontechnology.com/sh...t+Fluorescents

I remember I almost about the Finnex light because its exactly 20" but in talking some experienced people in the hobby the said that Finnex was so-so that someone else actually makes that fixture for them and that if they had to do it they would get the sunpod. Back then the only thing I could find was the Finnex.

I don't know if its me or not, but I had this really bad addiction of trying a bunch of different bulbs. It came with the 14 Phoenix. I had that for about 6 weeks. Then I wanted a 20k so I bought a helio 20k. That was cool for about 3 months. Then I bought the Radium 20k, right now I'm using that. I already bought the aqualine 20k, but I haven't used it. I just want to see the difference between them. But I'm wasting a bunch of money.

yeah, i wish the sunpod came with some actinic supplementation. i was actually looking for a new fixture that came with it, but as All Delight stated, trying to find one that is 20'' is tough. i actually have my 24'' sunpod over my NC24. it only overhangs by 2'' on each side. i used to have it on a 20H that measured 24''.

oh, and i see the blue assessor now down in the bottom left. didn't see it before.

Also, if you really want to run the SunPod over a tank and you can't get it to fit with the stands, you can always hang it. The SunPod comes with hardware to hang it.

Is it a good idea to have something cover the top of the tank?

The 20'' Sunpod will fit on a 24 Gal. Nanocube. The only thing is the color of the tank and the Sunpod is different. You can see the deference in All Delight picture.
