Power Head in Overflow Question
Has anyone ever put a power head in there overflow for flow so you did not have to see it. I would run hose to the top of the overflow and then back into the tank with locline to make it look like a regular return.

You'd be sending the surface water back into the tank. The surface is where most proteins and nutrients accumulate among other things.

You got a point there, never thought about that.

I have a small powerhead in my overflow, but it's to keep detritus from settling there.

A power head in the overflow will work fine---BUT remember to drill a siphon break hole in the PH return. If you don't your tank will drain lower than the level of the overflow when the pumps are off. Got it??
