So... On a side note, I just got a PM from one of the RC mods telling me to change my avatar to something "more appropriate for a family forum" ????? ***...

Since when is a picture of my own son picking his nose considered inappropriate for a family forum? Has this place evolved into a Nazi state?

Well, they just have so many members now, they have to keep everyone in line or chaos will break out. First it's nose picking, then it's plumber's crack. What's next, camel toes? It can spiral out-of-control, so just be a good boy and post a picture of a stupid fish or clam and we will all be able to breath easier.

They probably don't like mine either right? You see how Sherman removed his?

Well my wife (being the dog lover she is) happens to find the mod's own avatar disturbing and offensive. Who's accountable for that?

I am a risk taker and early adopter in many cases. To me it sounds like Jonathan did his homework. I am not an engineer but it seems very odd that the crazing has not happened everywhere a pump was mounted. If it was a tank problem wouldn't it have happened to every pump?

WOW!!! No sense posting here anymore.

What was so terrible? He's had that avatar for ages and all of a sudden it becomes an issue?

As far as BrianD's avatar I could see how someone would find it offensive, but then I'm not much for painting animals.

I've said it...go ahead and ZAP me too! If you do you can also scrap my RC membership as well!!!

Wet blanket...at least you got that right.

Sorry, I cannot comment on that.

Banning dhnguyen is obviously a case of Selective Enforcement!!

The mods are thinking that he made them mad before so now lets just pick on him until we can Ban him.

Just WRONG, dude!

How do I stop paying these people the $24 a year?

So, on a lighter note, my reef is looking good but I have been noticing the clams closed up or partially closed up and I cannot figure out why that is. I don't see anything picking on them, but I wonder if it isn't the cleaner wrasses. It started after I put them in the tank.

Anyone have enough experience with clams to give me suggestions as to what to look for?

How about you discuss the topic of this thread and avoid things you are not fully informed on?

Go into your PayPal account into the Subscriptions panel an you should see an entry for Reef Central, which you can cancel right from there.

Right back at ya K!

So I am in a rescue operation at the moment. One of the local business owners came into my store and asked me if there was something wrong with his sailfin since it was lying on its side at the surface of the tank. I hustled over there and sure enough, a dying Desjardini Tang.

It has a pinch stomach and face with no external signs of disease. I told the guy that it looked like it was starving and he told me his maint. guy had instructed them to stop feeding so much food.

So I have it at my place in the QT with a Vortech on low and rocks piled around it so the fish won't get stck on it. I also added an airstone in front of the pump. I have been periodically holding it in front of the powerhead. It is fighting to stay alive, but I don't have much hope. I think it is probably too weak to eat at this point.

Anyone bring a fish back from starvation?

My response was directed at geo.

If I want to pull the pin, I'm quite capable of doing it myself, thanks.

I said it before and I'll say it again, dhnguyen had the same avatar for as long as I can remember. Why has it become an issue now? Just a simple answer to a simple question and I'll drop the subject. Feel free to pm the response if you feel it might upset the masses.

Jon have you tried feeding it? What type of response are you getting from the fish?

Have you tried soaking some nori in garlic?

Your assumption is that you're entitled to an answer on something that does not involve you.

Best for everyone to drop it and worry about yourself and keep this thread on its' topic.

yeah, there's no way it can eat right now but I did try a couple different methods including a dropper directly in its mouth.
