Whatcha got there?

Despite some really counterproductive threads out there, I think to help Tampa come together, let's post some pics of some corals in our tanks that we don't have positive ID's on. Maybe we can help each other to positively ID some of our favorite corals. I personally have PM'd Hawkster and DaddyJax on one of my increasingly favorite corals. Let's see some pics of any coral that you are unsure of, and as a group, maybe we can help each other to determine an ID, the best practices, and requirements for success with the keeping that particular coral.... Ok, I will start ...................

Red Stag?

I have these growing on a rock and no clue what they are. They are very small. The green center is about the size of a pin head.

jsl6v8, I hear ya, I have rose red milli, pink milli, blue milli, and the hairiness of this coral does appear to resemble a milli. The guy I acquired it from said it was sold to him as a red stag. The thing is, that every coral in my tank seems to have have extreme PE. The growth and corralite structure looks like a stag, this is why I am stumped. DaddyJax got me going in the direction of Red Abrotonoides, but the branches seem a bit on the thin side. Here is a pic w/o PE, if that helps.......

Corey, I believe it is a soft coral. There is a little spot where it died off and it didnt leave any skeleton. I will feel it when i get home from work.

Chris, Hawkster was also leaning towards prostrata, that is until he looked at the pic w/o PE. The color of the polyps are an orangish color, the base is a light redish pink color, and the tips have an electric red color.

Matt, I am also starting to go the abrotanoides route, I am going to do another google, to find a better id. It is now a little higher in the tank, so I think I should be getting better coloration, only time will tell.

Perry
