Dyed Gonipora ?
Hello Guys,
Do you think this goni has been dyed ? I see some discoloration patches here and there, but can't tell if it's stress from shipping... or if some punks dyed the poor thing... what do you think ? It was sold as a "Lavender Goniopora " |

It's very possible that it's dyed, and it's very possible that it's not. When Goni are retracted like that, their colour tends to be a lot more intense then when they are expanded.
My G. eclipsensis was lavender when I first got it but it was because it was partially bleached out. Now that it's healthy, it turned into more of a burgundy colour than anything.

Not dyed, that is actually a very common color. Often they have a very purple or blue eye.

If its a Tonga piece, its most likely naturally that color.
