w/ dwarfs brine shrimp is a good diet when its enriched
and pretty easy to just set up a brine shrimp hatchery, make sure to rince them before feeding or they can foul the water
brine shrimp have nasty foul water with plenty of good opportunity to breed bad bacteria

larger seahorses will simply slowly starve to death on a diet of enriched brine shrimp
it's like trying to stay healthy on a diet of pototo chips with vitimins and hufas sprinkled on top
and the longer they eat this diet the weeker they get and become more suseptable to infections

Citron Clown Goby update:
The gobies (and acro) are doing great! They have kept their egg laying confined to the same spot. The coral is healthy and continues to grow. Eggs have been present and tended to by the mother constantly since we started this thread. Unfortunately we haven't witnessed the eggs hatch or any signs of babies.

Sea Horse update:
We are proud to announce that on Saturday December 16th. at 6 pm, Clarence and Gladys gave birth to approximately 100 babies! We were fortunate to witness the birth and immediately removed 71 babies from the sump. We knew they were mating, but this came as a COMPLETE suprise! We had NO knowledge on this subject as well as NO equipment or food...we were completely clueless but didn't want the cute little guys to die! We have met many of our friends on or through CMAS and Reef Central. After a few phone calls and some surfing, everything fell perfectly into place. Desjardiniidj picked up (on his way home from work) a complete DIY seahorse baby raising kit and live rotifers form sugartooth and delivered it to our door. By 11 pm (5 hrs. later) we acquired the knowledge, equpiment, etc. needed to sustain them and never left the house. In addition to DJ and sugar, Rod Buehler, kerusso316, and Dr.J also helped with additional resources. By 2 am, we had the babies fed and in their own tank as well as a rotifer and baby brine culture going. It has been almost 72 hrs. now and they are all still alive! They are about a 1/4" long and very strong active eaters. There is NO WAY we could have pulled this off by ouselves...we THANK YOU ALL so much for the support! Here are some pics of the family:

your Hippocampus comes have gained nice weight
their fry will be pelagic for up to 3 weeks at which point they will become benthic and start hitching. They should be able to eat fresh hatched bbs already, since they are fairly large fry.
feed the bbs at 12 hours post hatch or less, and be sure to remove all uneaten bbs after about an hour.
as long as ammonia is kept at 0 they should do well

are they staying of the water surface for you
they look like nice full term comes hunting for food

all seahorse fry grow very fast the 1st few weeks.
they should double thier size in no time
but do remember they have very small digestive tracts, so feeds must be spaced or they will die
sorry if you no this stuff not trying to bother you with stuff you may no

Oh and he should deliver again in less than 3 weeks
