I love how that one person, instead of saying wow, fellow reefers, check out this new product I found that would help the community with fragging, instead said hey, this could be used as a frag plug and help me to rip off some fellow reefers

at least if they were custom injection molded I could find that respectable, but I really, really doubt that all of these new pvc plugs coming out are custom molded...

Fraggle Reef I mean organism

O.K.
Time to let you all in on a little secret. I was told to let them search and see how long they would keep looking. I know most won't believe me but...

THESE ARE CUSTOM DESIGNED INJECTION MOLDED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF CORAL PROPAGATION...

Respect me now???

I can't go into detail here but those wishing to contact me please do and I will answer all your questions to the best of my ability.

um, what does me being a sponsor have to do with my interest in this case? is it a personal jab at an attempt to discredit my point of view? just curious...

also, much respect on the injection molded technique, although I doubt that all of the pvc plugs being offered by the myriad of companies now are injection molded, at least these apparently are, I thank you for saving me many more hours of needless searching

also, sorry if I sounded confrontational, much props if it's injection molded, as the initial costs can be quite high, and it takes motivation to pull it off, what ticks me off is if someone found the part online, and decided to sell them at a significant markup to reefers simply because the end purpose had changed

As one of the two people who designed the mold for these frag plugs, I can assure you with 100% certainty that these plugs are custom injection molded specifically for the reefkeeping hobby.

With a little luck, these should even start showing up from the solomons with some nice little AC corals on them soon.

I'm going to add my two cents:

I just purchased 1000 of these plugs from Vince and I'm VERY pleased with them. No more molding plugs. No more curing. No more time wasted on waiting. These things are awesome!

I personally know the place that makes them and they don't cost pennies...............

Asking one of these "sellers" results in a "none of your business" response.

So the question remains, what are they originally ment for, and who makes them?
insert foot into mouth for assuming

Hey, I made no assumptions. If they're getting them pressed especially for them, good for them. But I know they're not paying more than $80 per 1000 count even after the die cost. Turning around and asking for $350 per 1000 is, well, to say it in kinder words, massive mark-up.

I have a plastic manufaturer that is willing to press an identical shape as these for $1200 for the die set and $500 for 10,000 plugs (initial cost: $.17 per), and $300 per 10,000 count after that ($.03 a plug set). I see no reason to do it though, since these are out there already.

I asked a simple question, and got flamed for it. Thanks
