How to get Riccordia off rock?
I have a colony of at least a dozen Riccordia Florida that I'd like to share with fellow reefers, but they're attached to the rock in my display tank. How do I get 'em off there?

take a clean razor blade and swipe em off
if you leave a touch on the rock you cut them from, they will even grow back

How do you attach the fresh cut piece to the rubble or reef plug?

no, just slime abit, no ill effects that i have seen in my mix tank
I place the loose boomer in a small plastic container with some rubble and wait a week or so |

Quote:
-cut the shroom off with a sharp razor blade -take a small dish, like a yogart cup, and cut the top off (so the cup is about 3/4" tall -fill the bottom of the cup up with substrate -put the shroom in the cup -put a mesh net and rubber band over the cup -put in a low flow area -the shroom will attach to the rubble in about a week -now it is safe to glue the shroom to a larger piece of LR if needed. |

If it isn't too late you can just use a hammer and chisel and break up the rock without doing any damage to the shrooms at all, too
