i have mine in the middle of the tank in moderately random flow under my 150w sunpod in my 24g. they are open all day long and night. i also spot feed them every other day with some mysis. good luck with them. they are gorgeous when they are open. they are hardy so they may like it anywhere. a lot of people have them on the sandbed. it will let you know if it's happy. hope this helps.

I'd start them out low if you don't know what they were under, mine don't open well in lots of flow so probably moderate to low flow, they should be able to adapt to any lighting, mine have been under 70-150 watts of halide and do great, like said they are very hardy and love to eat.
