Announcing the October JARC Meeting

This thread is to announce that the next Joliet Area Reef Club meeting will be held on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25th at 7PM at the home of Rob Culen, in Joliet.
Directions will be sent out to those who RSVP on this thread - they will be sent out via email to be considerate of member's privacy about a week before the meeting.

This meeting is open to all members and prospective members.

Pizza, beer, pop, and dessert will be provided. Bringing a dish to pass would be appreciated.

More about the meeting will be posted as the date approaches.... we are considering a raffle, door prizes, etc, possible small frag trade.... any ideas are, as always, welcome. So come after work, have a few drinks and chill out with us, we're hoping that those who were unable to make the 1st meeting will be able to come!!!
Please contact me for any further questions.

In addition, anyone who is interested in becoming a board member, please contact me if you have not done so already. There is an additional meeting in the works for prospective board members.

Thanks,
Valerie Burns-Seaward
Joliet Area Reef Club

As of yet Scott, we do not have any requirements. The board will be meeting together to discuss dues, activities, meetings, etc, and the club as a whole will take a vote on all these things during the october general meeting. We're still trying to get everything off the ground, so stay posted for that info. Please make sure I have your first/last name and email address so you can be on the mailing list for announcements. Please PM that info to me.
Looking forward to having you!

Valerie

Gluestick:
You know the thought of fraging the brain never crossed my mind.
If it started to grow onto another rock i would defiantly separate the 2 colonels, but i don't think i would take the chance breaking up the only one i have.

little_squid:
how does one with a system as large as yours not have a frag to bring?

I'm down as well. I have frags of all of the weedy corals (i.e. pulsing xenia, red sea xenia, three types of star polyps, anthelia). I would be happy to give a newbie, or anyone else for that matter, these "beginners" corals for FREE. Take them please. I have enough! I also have a few frags of some pink monti and brownish orange for trade. Looking forward to the Oct. meeting.

2 words: tile saw-great for fragging LPS! (Just here to help!)

And ya know, I got all excited when I saw the first post that said the 25th was a Wednesday! But, sadly, it's still a Thursday, so I'm going to have to pass on this one... Have fun guys!

not sure about that one just yet.

i did pay lfs $$ for the brain so i think i will wait until it is on another rock. If that ever happens i will post up and the first in line has an awesome free frag!

Until then that little guy stays in one peace.
