Kalkwasser
Say I have to go Kalkwasser to raise my ph because of winter time. Now I also use B-Iinoc for Cal and Alk I have them on a dosing pump every 12 hrs Cal for 40 seconds and Alk for 20 sec. Now How much Kalkwasser do I add to the reactor to raise my PH . The kalkwasser is for water top of only which is hook up to a Tunze Osmolator Universal. and i use R/O water. I have a 90 gal tank with a 55 gal ref, and 30 gal sump. any ideas thx. My Ph is 7.8

Kalk reactors aren't particularly controllable. I suspect most people just dump a bunch into the reservoir and replace as needed. I am assuming this is a self-stirring model?

Well I build it like the GEO kalk reactor

That should be fine. Only about 2 tsp of lime will dissolve per gallon of water, so most people just dump a few dumps into the reservoir. I'd watch the tank pH carefully for the first few days, since limewater is very high in pH.

Make sure your ph probe is calibrated. Check it first.

The excess stays there waiting to dissolve as more water passes through. As mentioned, controlling the potency by how much actually dissolves (often it is much less than 2 tsp per gallon) can be difficult unless you are stirring all the time, which often risks dumping lime solids into the tank (which is not optimal, IMO).
