Canon G3 or G5 should be around that price by now I would imagine. I've owned & used the G5 in the past and was very pleased with it's performance. These are a good bang for the buck IMHO.

You could look at a Canon Powershot S60, or the Fuji FinePix S5100, or the Nikon CoolPix 5600.....what do you want the camera to be able to do? What kind of pictures are you going to be taking on a regular basis?

http://www.dpreview.com has reviews on almost every camera out there. Try reading the ones for the G3/G5 and the S60. I also owned an S70 *newer version of S60* which took really brilliant images but was to bulky for me. I rather have a small point and shoot and a digital SLR then one camera that tries to do everything.

I'd do eBay with a reputable seller. Try here: http://photography.search.ebay.com/c...1QQsacatZ29997 or http://photography.search.ebay.com/c...1QQsacatZ29997

Are these two the same?
http://store.yahoo.com/royalcamera/capos60.html

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Canon...oductDetail.do

I mean do they have the same features, the price is just way too high on circuit city if they ARE the same.

Well I just got the Nikon 7600 and I'm really liking it... The one below is supposed to be just as nice... Have you gone into the Photography Forum to ask and read??? They are a really nice group there as well as we Loungers

How much is the Nikon 7600?
Sounds expensive.

But anyway, I just want to know if the Canon S60 from royalcamera is the same as the one from best buy and circuit city, I just think the price diffrence is way too much, the price is really good at royalcamara if it IS the same camera, meaning it has the same features and everything.

I recently got the Kodak Easyshare CX7530 with Dock for $198 at Walmart. So far I'm pretty impressed with it. The Kodak software that comes with it is garbage, but the camera has 5 megapixel, optical and digital zoom, lots of features I haven't gotten into yet. Pretty highly rated too. So far so good for me.

Wizardgus, I've read nice things about the camera you just got...Sounds like it's a nice camera ...

As for the price differences, that's pretty much the same with any product... One grocery store will have cereal for 2.00 a box and the next one up the street will want 5.00 for the same kind... When you are reading on the camera just make sure it's the same model... I doubt that one store will have the same model but not all the bells and whistles as the other store... But I'm no expert ... I got some great advice about buying a camera, you should go to the store physically and hold them and practice with them, they all do feel differently, the weight, where the buttons, and such are located etc... The 7600 I got is fairly small, but I have small hands so it's perfect for me ... But by going to test them out really helped out alot... Good luck and let us know how it goes...

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5600 and I really like it. It has an internal memory and a memory slot. Also, it can take video WITH sound.

The macro function works quite well and it can digitally zoom up to 4 times the size. I can take a picture of a pod if I wanted to, or if one would stay still.

Go to a store like Best Buy and try a few out. That way you can pick the one that meets your needs.

Hmmm, I found the same camera for $218.00 here http://www.shopcartusa.com/Product/9...60/View_Specs/

And the same camera at http://royalcamera.com/capos60.html for $ 229.00

Then it's $399.99 at http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Canon...oductDetail.do

It looks like the exact same camera at all 3 places, like I said I've never seen the same camera that didn't have the same features as the same camera at other places I think I may have just completely confused myself
