So here I am mixing a 5 gallon bucket of salt water(cuz thats what we Reefers do on a Friday night)and my cell phone rings.I answer it and put my phone between my shoulder and ear so i could put a powerhead in the bucket.Next thing I know my phone slips off my shoulder and STRAIGHT into the bucket of water I knew I shold have gotten insurance on it

How dare you converse on the cell phone instead of directing your friend to PM you. It's the RC gods punishing your infidelity.

It might not be too late to save it. Get the battery and SIM card out immediately and start drying the phone. BTW, if there's no sign of damage, you may luck your way into getting it replaced. Hubby just did this with his Nextel. The guy at the store said since it showed no signs of damage, he'd put it thru that it just died. We now have to pay for the insurance tho.

I've dropped cell phones into the lake, or jumped in with my phone on my waist band about 6-7 times. Once, it sat in the water overnight under the dock until I could see it the next morning.
I simply opened up the phone as much as I could and rinsed out the phone with clean water. Let it dry thoroughly. It worked every time after a drenching. |

Same experience as Joey's. I forgor my phone in my jeans and put them to wash in the washing machine. Took a while to fully dry out, but low and behold it still works!

Nitrox, don't ever use that language to title a thread again. This is a final warning.
