New Yellow Tang ....what to feed

I put a Yellow Tang in my 120 (4x4x2) 2 days ago. He didn't seem to have much trouble making the adjustment. As soon as he went in the tank, he started plucking the algae. Everything appears to be normal other than a little skiddishness when I approach the tank. In fact, he's already made a friend with my skunk shrimp.

The only thing is that when I put a clip of dried seaweed in there, he doesn't even go near it. He does continue to graze on the tank algae.

Is this normal? I'm not complaining. He's cleaning up my tank after all. I'm just concerned that he won't readily accept feeding. I'm using Julian Sprung's Sea Veggies.

The only other fish I have in this tank are a couple of small clowns....they are tiny compared to this tang but they are constantly begging for food. I use a variety of stuff to feed the clowns but the tang just keeps grazing on the sand bed and rock.

I use the green seaweed select, it seems more popular with zebrasoma sp. Also, try a good flaked food for herbivores.

Last, don't worry about him grazing on the algae in the tank. That is a sign of a good environment for him

Try feeding pellets or frozen formulated for herbivores. He'll probably get the seaweed sheets, eventually...

I'll give the above mentioned stuff a try. Thanks for the help. Man Lisa...you have a lot of tanks. I can hardly keep up with my 120. How on earth do you do it?
