Making my seaclone return quieter?
Ok I know the Seaclown sucks, but its all i have. I kinda got it dialed in, course i have no fish load so it cant really skim much yet. But the way the water exits the skimmer and spashes down into the sump is really loud. I tryed moving it over to hit the tallest wall of the sump but its still incredibly loud. Any tricks to quiet it down?

Get a peiece of pvc pipe, drill holes in it and place filter floss or a power filter sponge in it and than sit in the sump where the water exits the skimmer.

Hi,
Turn it of.....remove.....sell, if you are that strapped for cash, scrap the freshwater anbuy a decent skimmer. You never see a really successful full reef setup that uses a $40 skimmer. Cheers, |

The best way to make them silent is to cut it in half then put it in the trash can and go buy a good skimmer, I know from experience,

I ran one in my sump, I had the return part against the side of the sump. Making the water run down the glass. And yes I upgraded to a Euro Reef. I guess it would be alright on a small tank. When I re-design my sump, I had the seaclone hanging on the back of tank. I found it skimmed a lot better. But I was also afraid of it leaking, which it never did.
