wow... most of the consensus is for the pylei and bathypyhlus. I thought it would be the other way around.

I'd take the rhomboid's... but I prefer to have pairs. They are all fascinating, either way you will be happy I am willing to bet.

Yea I second the Pairs.
Females can be so difficult to find when you want one

I would say pylei and bathyphylus, but I guess I'm biased because bathyphylus is one of my favorite fairies.

No don't think so. It has a unique swallow tail and does not have the three dorsal fin spines. I will try and get better pics, this guy is really fast moving.http://www.saltcorner.com/sections/z...Pangulatus.htm
Bob's website is great, lot of good info. |

Great thread- I've been following it for a while now. I do have a question- I've been wanting a Scotts Fairy wrasse for a while now but I've been wanting a 'Cook Island' type since I have seen a few pictures and I loved the fact that they were mostly blue with yellow fins. Well I was finally able to order one and when it came in I think I got the wrong one. I think I ended up with a Australian version. Below is a pic of it- can anyone confirm what region this particular fish is from? It is a very cool looking wrasse but not what I ordered. Anyway- your help verifying the region would be great- I thought the color variations varied based on the region of 'Fiji', 'cook islands' and 'australian'.
I thought it was suppose to look more like this one-

I guess I should also post a pic of my favorite fish- my leaopard wrasse. I haven't seen any pictures in this thread for some reason- or did I just miss that page?

I don't think you've seen any pics of them because they aren't fairy wrasses
However, I'm glad you posted it! I always love seeing leopard wrasses. Has yours been pretty hardy and did it acclimate to prepared foods well? (heard they can be hard to get to eat)

DUH!!! FAIRY wrasse- what was I thinking! sorry!
At any rate- he was a little tricky at first- only ate pods. I started feeding live bloodworms and there was no turning back- now he eats anything I drop in the tank- very healthy and fat. I'm trying to find a female with little luck so far.

Really- I thought it was a sex-reversed female? I've done a little research on it but maybe not enough- I'll have to do more. Do you have any pictures or weblinks that would have more info?
Here is one of the websites I got info from- maybe I was reading it incorrectly. http://www.uog.edu/marinelab/fish/sp...meleagris.html
