Ya gotta love those blennies! I plan to thoroughly enjoy this thread!

Hey Bigshade, is that blenny of yours one of those really rare $600+ fish? I'm looking for a colorful blenny to finish out my tank -- but I'm guessing I can't have one of those.

Love the other two above also! Blennies don't have to be fuschia to be the coolist fish in the tank!

Geris,
Does your Lawn Mower Blenny eat alot of algae? What does it feed on after it eats all the algae? Or will there be always enough algae to sustain itself.
All cool looking blennies!!!
thx.

Gonzo - yes, he eats a lot of algae and specially diatoms, but he also eats everything pellets, flakes, frozen food and anything he can find; he's a happy fatty

Its called a tailspot blenny which seems to be relatively new to the hobby, they sell them at liveaquaria.com, my local fish store gets them very often, usually sells for 24.99 or 29.99.

i bought it very small about an inch, and its at least 3 inches now. confident but not aggressive, the first few months it would only eat algae off glass/rocks, but now it eats any frozen foods and even flakes. i highly recommend it, its got nice colors, has funny personality, and eats algae. blennys are cool

the ember is really cool. i have yet to see it go down to the sand bed, i've only seen it perch on the top rocks, the powerhead, and right now, in the intake (i think that's what it is) tube of the skimmer that isn't being run while i use chemi-clean. it is a major pig and inhales the mysis & cyclop-eeze i feed it. it will stay in one place then dart out and chow on some food then dart back to its original perch. but it never hides or anything like that. there aren't any other fish yet, when i add more in the future its behavior may change.

it was $19 in my lfs which is cheap for that particular store.

Is it too late to rename this as "blenny only thread"? ")
