1.5" baby maxima...help
I spent a lot on frags last night at this LFS here in town, and for spending so much...he gave me a beautiful maxima (he also said it was a top of the line colored one?) the problem being it is only about 1.5 inches. I have a 28" deep tank (180g) with 3 m.h. 250w (more to the back of tank) and compacts in the front row of tank. I have a nice squamosa sitting in the middle on the sandbed now. Do I put this little guy in the sand? Is there going to be enough light? or try to get him on the rock work up high? I don't really want him to attach to the rock work as I may very well want to move him when he is larger.
I feed this tank fairly heavy...with DT's, oyster eggs, etc. thanks so much

Place him in the rockwork or on the bottom of the tank with a small flat rock underneath him. When he attaches to that rock you can move him into the rockwork or what not.

Or you can use a half shell, when it attaches move it around, my little max was abou the same size as yours and still attached to the same shell 2+ years later (I've moved it many, many times around). Mine is all the way to the top, just because I don't have MH , I think is going to be there for a while since is on top a digitata that it's starting to encrost the shell.

Wow... AMAZING PICTURE!!!
What a great idea... esp because it will give you that boring look that corceas have in the wild... and since monti digis grow so fast, and are so hardy, if you end up not likeing it there... just break it off and move it =]
