All Glass 125 - Tempered?

So...due to certain circumstances I have the oppourtunity to drain my tank and drill the back. Prior to doing this I was hoping to make sure that the glass is not tempered. I sent an email off to All-Glass's new website (aqueon?) but I also found the following link

http://www.thekrib.com/TankHardware/size-chart.html

My tank was purchased new in 1997 and is a 125 gal (72")
I am probably being overly paranoid but I was hoping that someone might have the same tank and has successfully drilled it. The glass is only 3/8" thick which is where my concern lies. I am wondering if they tempered the sides to enable them to go with thinner glass.

I drilled an AGA 125 no problem. I think they get away with it because of the 2 braces at the top. Maybe someone else will chime in.....

3/8 is good to 24 inches tall, if there is a brace, I gather.

I have an AGA 125 Mega Flow, the bottom is tempered but the sides are not. I'm not sure about the non-MF tank though.

Are you drilling the sides or the bottom?

Gonna be the sides since I did hear back from aqueon and they state that the bottom is tempered but the sides are not. Now I just hope I don't drop it on my toe! Thanks to all who replied!
