Insect Hunting During Lunch
I head out to Centennial Park during lunch time to take a look around.
There are plenty of flowers and bugs everywhere (lucky I remembered my insect repellent). A few hours later, I got a few decent shots. The conditions were pretty bad due to strong wing that almost never stopped and I think I got a bit sunburnt. All these shot were taken with the Canon EOS 10D + 180mm f3.5 macro + 580ex flash with the exception of #12, which was with the 24-70 f2.8.
Most of the shots were shot from a tripod and with flash to fill in the shadows.

Fantastic photos! We've just come through our second snowstorm in three days, so it's good to see that there's color somewhere in the world.
Thanks! -------- edit -------- BTW, my daughter's second grade class is going to do a unit on insects in a couple of months. Would you mind if I printed your shots as a teaching tool to help the little nippers out? Especially as I'm starting to think that we'll never see an insect again.... Thanks!
