Impress me without SPS

Every tank of the month is full of SPS. Any time someone posts show me your big tank ,They are full of SPS. Yes they are very awesome but show me some tanks full of softies or LPS. Throw in some featherdusters and mushrooms. I know there must be some real nice tanks out there without SPS.

Here is a pic of my very young 40 Gal.

I have no SPS in my tank and I thinks it's beautiful. I'm at work so I can't post a picture but I have all sorts of LPS and a cool yellow leather. I like the look alot. I'm into the wavy looking corals so I don't really miss the SPS.

BTW, brace yourself to be flamed for having that purple tang in a 40G.

I think your tank is really nice. I will send pics of my two, but they are similar to yours.

You need a variety of different tanks and ideas or all will look the same.

Good luck

I agree completely. Almost every tank of the month is SPS dominated . I guess LPS/softie people like us are just the minority though.

Nice tank Siddroww, but IMO tangs need a 4' long minimum tank.

I know I know the tank is too small for the tang. I bought him about two years ago when I didnt know better. He was an inch and a half and now is about 3 . I am planning an upgrade to at least a 75 this fall. He does at least only share the tank with 2 small clowns.

Thanks Siddroww,

The tank is a 120RR and the orange coral is a large colt (Cladiella sp.) that unfortunatley lost a battle with a PH intake.

"Every tank of the month is full of SPS." I agree, and are often massive in size (120G+) and put together on what seems like a billion-dollar budget. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this redundancy in this thread to RC: http://archive.reefcentral.com/vbull...threadid=76836

If anyone knows of a basic but very well-done tank that could be nominated for RC's tank-of-the-month please email JohnL.

Here's my 29-gallon, it's got a few token SPS corals that happened to do well in it; all the rest are softies and LPS.

Hmm this tanks are great....

Why is it that all the TOTM's are SPS tanks? Do SPS reefers hold LPS/softy reefers in low regard?

This has perplexed me for quite some time now.

My tank is mostly LPS .......

Here's my tank. This is when it was maybe 3 months old. I've since upgraded to a 60 and basically have everything except the open brain died when I switched to MH. And I also split the tongue into 3 pieces but as of now only one piece is alive and it's starting to bleach also. Hope you guys like it. I'm a newbie at reef tanks so please don't be too harsh.
