NIce watermelon Kigs.

Thanks for the info Jim, yeah don't want to feed as much.. don't want to run into the same problem I had a couple months ago.. I'm close to getting my second MCE600 to run 2 of them in my 100gal.

Yes, the oxypora selection has definitely improved. Orange with blue/green is coming in too.

Jim, I got 4 Hydor #4's in my 100gall. for SPS, but that probly a bit too much for chalices huh? I'm in the process of getting a 70watt halide for my 20QT and thinking of moving them there, it already houses a lavender/yellow duncan colony that came back from almost nothing and a couple of recovering zoos. its run with a medium sweeper type PH and 1 tiny ph.

bare bottom.

That's hard to answer without seeing your tank but many LPS grow side by side with acros in the wild. If you post a vid showing flow I could definitely try to help.

That's a very appropriate flow for a mixed LPS tank. The vid showed the flow clearly and I wouldn't reduce it at all. Needs more Barry White in the soundtrack though, just IMO!-Jim

Beautiful chalice's everyone. I just picked up my first chalice frag a couple days ago, and was curious how fast I can expect it to grow. Its about 3/4" now and near the top of my NC 12 dx, any ideas on what sort of growth rate I can expect? I always keep my calc/alk in check with weekly water changes.

That's not a question that can be answered as asked. Different chalices have different growth rates which is not surprising since "chalice" includes at least 4 genus' and dozens of species. Most chalices are nocturnal feeders and I normally recommend turning off the skimmer and dosing w/ rotifers at night for top growth. I'm not sure how safe that would be in a mini tank though.

Hey guys,
Those of you that have the Orange Sherbert: I have a question. What lighting to you have and how far from the surface to you keep your OS for best color? I used to have 250 SE radiums running on a PFO HQI ballast and got this color near the bottom of the tank (24" from the surface):

Well, I downsized and my tank is 20" deep. I run a DE 150w radium on a magnetic ballast. The OS was about 4" from the surface. This shot doesn't give you the best view of color, but it has darkened up considerably. The OS is the coral in the top of the tank to the back, slightly left of center:

While it has grown considerably, I don't get the colors I used to. I'm going to try moving it down some but was wondering what others do so that I can try to get a consensus.

Thanks,
Melissa
