Tek Light T-5

Hey everyone,

Recently just did a in wall system with my 55g tank, I purchased a new 6 balist Tek Light from my local marina. I'm currently running 3 actinic, and 3 aqua blue's. What should the distance be from the light to the top of the tank? I don't want to roast the new corals to come. I plan on having a mixture of both soft and stony corals.

I have mine 5 in from the water. I am not using a shield. IF you are, it can be closer.

3-4" is fine. You won't roast the corals as long as you acclimate them to the new light.

thanks for the help guys, this was a topic that I was kinda stumped on. I had the light at about 5 in. from the tank before but i noticed alot of salt deprevation and splatters all over the fixtures, I currently have it at 1' 1" above the tank.

The Tek lights that I have do not come with waterproof endcaps. I highly recommend using a shield. It will probably save you $'s and the possibility of "real damage".
