Biggest Reeftank Lie You've Ever Told

Everybody has at least one, like "No, honey, I had a coupon, the frag was only $10" or "I got him as a rescue, doesn't he look happy??"

Note to self, keep husband off forums...

Actually no. I've shown my wife everything. Even showed her the spreadsheet of startup costs. Never batted an eye. If I started to hide stuff she would lose trust then I would really be in trouble.

I've told people that my tank never has problems and very little maintenance. Really it doesn't have many problems NOW but its been a rough road getting there. And my maintenance is low but somtimes I'll spend 1\2 a day working on something.

LMAO funny thread. Usually what I say is that I "Ohhh hunny look what I bought for you" I definatly DONT ever tell the full price or use the "I traded something for it". If he was an avid reefer and knew what stuff costs I would be in trouble lol.

no lies, my wife has been great with the whole thing, she pays the bills so there's no hidden expense, and it's cheaper than a LOT of other addictions!!

I don't know that I've ever "lied" - but I don't exactly broadcast how much things cost in my tank. People have come over and pointed out colonies or this or that, mentioned what it might go for and my wife had comments about the flowers I hardly ever buy for her though ...

But I agree with Elliott - there are far more expensive things to be addicted to. Somehow I still find those ....

My best buddy is a fanatic for older (read 1980's) BMW's and Mercedes. He buys and resells one or two per year. So when I'm dropping $, that's what I think--at least it ain't a BMW.

Yes ma'am, we were able to repair the leak and add 4 inches in height to your husbands tank.

Well I didn't intend to lie but I did tell my wife the 35g would be plenty of tank for at least a year.

Just bought a 90g, it's in the garage. Should be set up in a couple month's.

Should have listened to you guys on starter tank size.
