both live aquaria and marine center have them for more. and its still less factoring in shipping and stuff. i used to slave labor at one when i was younger. But i dont wanna add to the store's trouble.

I know you didn't just bring up fish from 6th ave That's like saying why would you pay $1000 for a high priced escort when you can get the same lovin for $60 in the tenderloin. Don't make me explain further. If you want to talk about 6th ave dry good pruces, great, but don't compare their live stock to any store, not even Petco.

I think they swim too much for a 24 gallon. I would get a candy basslet.

He buys the majority of his stuff from Mr. Lee ( the guy who files bankruptcy every three years and changes his store names from Aquarium Seasons, Aqua 1,2,3, 99 Fish, and now Aqua Traders. Hius Sunday bag lot specials are the left over garbage from Aqua Traders. He doesn't buy Saltwater from Pan Ocean or ASAP, but does buy fresh from ASAP. I know because my friends son works in their fish room.

i only buy dry goods from 6th ave cuz they're so much cheaper than the lfs by my house. even if they get the fish from the same places, their holding facilities are horrible. and they probably buy so much to get such a good deal anyways. I mean, where else do you see dozens of regal angels, and moorish idols? let alone sharks, rays and sea jellies? and let's not even mention the caulerpa they're not supposed to have.

PhillyFan: don't be jeolous becuase you know less about what goes on than others. Dave does not buy from Sea Dwelling, do you know why? I do, because they are more expensive than every other wholesaler from here to LA. Don't just drop names when you don't know what your talking about. Most sane people here on this forum know that when it comes to livestock health, 6th ave is the last place to go. Now if it is because you are a cheapie, than it makes sense. I hope your not one of those people who are standing in line in front of me in all the lfs trying to bargain for everything. I'll be dropping by Steve's at Lucky Ocean tomorrow and I won't be asking him to give me $10 off a coral. Seacrest Out!

Wow, this thread is gnarly. Can't we all just get along? I saw the fish today and it is eating and in good health, however it is beating up on the Lubbok's wrasse that shares its tank.

You are a cheapie, your the only one complaining about price. I payed $200 for mine last year from Aquarium Concepts. I've seen them online now for between $179 - 249. Go pull some pennies out of your friends sofa cushions and head on down to Safeway and try to bargain for a steak for dinner. Then when they tell you to get lost go down the street and buy it from the guy selling Omaha Steaks out of his van.

Can we all get along?? It's only a freaking fish.. I paid only $25 for my Imperator Angel and it looks great. Cheap doesn't mean bad. You just have to know what you're buying ..

C'mon folks ... everyone has their own opinion and we really shouldn't be bashing each other around.

I personally don't shop at 6th Avenue just because I don't like their business practice, but that's just me - for me it's a matter of principle. I've had friends who have purchased fish from 6th Avenue without any problems.

To each their own

hahha i just wanted to know if you would put a fish like that in a 24 AP. if i was concerned about the price i would have been more surprised and wouldn't be considering it. i mean if someone has the means, who cares? but i agree Tube rider, this is funny!

OK... Breath everyone... In with the good air, out with the bad...

On a side note: orientalexpress - ISNT CHEAP... All his equipment and live stock are all high end. He is also one of the nicest guys you can meet.
